Southern Wine & Spirits of New England Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate sponsorship, community involvement and educational excellence are vitally important charitable concerns at Southern Wine & Spirits of New England, according to Randy Barnhart, Vice President, General Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of New England, whose operations encompass Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

I.   Hannaford of Maine Charities

Hannaford of Maine Charities plays an active role in improving the quality of life in the communities we serve. The charitable group provides financial and other forms of support at the local, regional and corporate levels, to eligible, not-for-profit organizations. Since 2010, Southern has contributed to the Hannaford of Maine Charities through a major sponsorship of their annual golf tournament.

III. Easter Seals Annual Winter Wine Spectacular

The Easter Seals New Hampshire Winter Wine Spectacular, one of the most popular consumer wine events in the state, attracted more than 1,500 guests in 2014. The event is held annually in cooperation with the New Hampshire Liquor Commission—along with the support of Southern and many generous local sponsors, restaurants and business establishments, as well as individual participants.

Proceeds from the 2015 Winter Wine Spectacular will support Easter Seals New Hampshire’s early intervention program, which provides services to hundreds of children with developmental delays and physical disabilities from ages three months to three years.

III.  MooreMart’s Honor Our Troops with a Donate a Crown Royal Bag Program

MooreMart, a non-profit based in Nashua, New Hampshire, began as a family effort to provide needed supplies to soldiers serving in Iraq. Ten years later, the group continues to send supplies to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

For the 2014 holiday season, with Southern and Diageo’s support, Crown Royal donated $1 for every Crown Royal iconic purple bag returned by consumers to MooreMart. Once all the Crown Royal bags are counted by MooreMart, Diageo and Southern will make a combined financial donation to the national non-profit Packages From Home—whose mission is to send care and comfort packages to deployed American military personnel stationed overseas.
