Southern Wine & Spirits of Minnesota Corporate Social Responsibility

During 2014, John Acott, Vice President, General Sales Manager, Southern Wine & Spirits of Minnesota, proudly noted the strong involvement of not only the company’s corporate support of local and statewide charitable groups, but also the volunteer time given by the company’s team members to numerous community non-profits.

I.   WineFest - A Toast to Children’s Health

Since 1995, WineFest has attracted thousands of guests and raised more than $11 million to advance innovative pediatric research taking place at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. Through donations of wines and spirits, Southern is proud to be a key contributor to WineFest.

II.   Wine, Women and Shoes

Now in its tenth year, the Wine, Women and Shoes (WW&S) team has produced more than175 events, which has net an astounding $20 million for various women and family-related causes.

Napa Valley Vintner Elaine Honig created Wine, Women and Shoes. Fundraisers for the organization take place in 35 cities across the U.S. In Minnesota during 2014, Southern contributed in fundraising and donated wine and spirits to support their statewide fundraising efforts.

III.   Additional Charitable Support in 2014

Southern and its employees support many local and national charitable organizations through donations and volunteerism. Some of these charities include the following fundraising events in 2014: Project for Pride in Living Fundraiser Event, Colon Cancer Coalition Fundraiser Event, Patrick's Cabaret Fundraiser Event, Shayla Bee Fund Fundraiser Event, Boys Town Fundraiser Event, and ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, among others.
