Andrew Harman Appointed as Vice President, Organizational Development

Industry Veteran to Concentrate on Newly Expanded Corporate and Divisional Organizational Development, Employee Training and Talent Enhancement               Initiatives and Programs

MIAMI - October 18, 2006 – Brad Vassar, Executive Vice President, General Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., the nation’s leading wine and spirits distributor with a tradition of service excellence since 1968, today announced the appointment of Andrew Harman as Vice President, Organizational Development, a new corporate level position. 

According to Mr. Vassar, Mr. Harman’s scope of responsibilities will help further cultivate and enhance the Company’s employee training, retention and talent development policies and programs, which in turn will further strengthen the Company’s Corporate and Divisional Human Resources functions and capabilities. In his new position, Mr. Harman will report to Mr. Vassar and work closely with Mr. W. Michael Head, Senior Vice President of Human Resources.

Mr. Vassar said, “Andy brings a wealth of industry background to this new position. His experience with all levels of the wine and spirits industry will be very valuable in helping Southern Wine & Spirits of America identify best practices and extend them throughout our organization.”

Mr. Head said, “Andy’s enthusiasm, energy and passion for the wine and spirits business are well known. We are delighted to have him join Southern in this newly created role which will help our Company continue to implement industry-leading organizational development policies and practices today and in the future.”

According to Mr. Vassar, “Andy is a proven industry veteran who spent over 32 years at The Seagram Company, where he last served as Chief Officer-Global Customer development and was responsible for many national and global departments and initiatives. During his career at Seagram he had many local, regional, national and global positions and was also responsible for Training & Development, U.S. Distributor Relations, Trade Channel departments, U.S. Strategic Planning, and had previously been a Seagram Division Manager and National Product Manager.”

Mr. Head added that “For the past 2 years Andy has been working with Southern Wine &  Spirits of  New York and has completed a number of important projects related to recruiting, hiring and developing Southern’s capabilities as a leading New York distributor.”
